Hi! my name is Robbie!

I’m a Mental Health Occupational Therapist with over 15 years’ experience working mainly with adolescents and adults navigating ADHD, trauma, anxiety, depression, and the many challenges that canĀ come with being human.

People often come to MindFlip Wellness when life feels harder than they feel it should - when things feel stuck, overwhelming, or hard to move through. My role is to help you make sense of what’s happening and support you to find a way forward that’s true to who you are and how you live.

Over the years, I’ve worked across a range of public and community mental health services, including Child & Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS), Headspace, Brisbane ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy) Centre, Forensic CYMHS, Assertive Mobile Youth Outreach Service (AMYOS) andĀ Adolescent Day Program.

This experience has shaped how I work today - grounded in real-world complexity, respectful of each person’s context, and focused on practical change that carries into everyday life.

My approach is neurodivergent-affirming and trauma-aware. I draw on evidence-based therapies including EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mentalization-Based Treatment (MBT), alongside occupational therapy's focus on what makes life flow - the toutines, roles, and activities that carry meaning.

Lived ExperienceĀ

I’m also neurodivergent myself - ADHD inattentive type (or ADD, as it was known back in the day), diagnosed as an adult over ten years ago.Ā

That experience deepened my understanding of how differently minds work, and just how important self-compassion is in the process of change. It reinforced for me that there’s no single ā€˜right’ way to do life - only ways that work for you, given your context.

Nature & Adventure Based OT

Occupational therapy is about understanding people through what they do, not just what they say. That’s why my work often extends beyond the therapy room.

When I’m not in session, you’ll usually find me at the beach, hiking, doing overnight bush camps, or meditating. I’m currently completing Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training, which continues to influence how I approach nervous system regulation and balance in my work

These practices aren’t separate from my work - they inform it.

Whether we’re sitting together in the clinic or working outdoors, the focus is the same: helping you feel more connected, more capable, and more at ease in your everyday life.
